Marketing Ideas
Every university has different things that work in terms of marketing on their campuses. Below are some of the ideas that have been collected through the years.
"I Play For..." Posters
At the University of Central Oklahoma, the Committee created "I PLAY FOR..." posters where committee members could write who they played for on a white board and then were photographed. The posters were personal for some, such as those that wrote about family members or friends, but others took a more general approach so that they could include facts or other information about Big Pink.
The campus community responded very well to these posters. UCO found that more people were remembering the event because they were seeing their friends on posters and they really stuck out because they looked differently from any other poster on campus.

FACT Posters
To increase educational opportunities at the University of Central Oklahoma, Fact Posters were printed, laminated, and placed all over campus to spread information as students were walking to and from class. Facts included the following:
- One out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime.
- In 2012, there were more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors.
- 30% of cancers in women are breast cancer.
- About 85% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer.
- If caught early in stage and with treatment, there is a 99% chance of a woman not dying of breast cancer.
- 1244 women at UCO will eventually be diagnosed with breast cancer.
- Men can get breast cancer.
"I PLAY FOR" Buttons
To create an interactive element with the "I PLAY FOR" campaign, the University of Central Oklahoma created "I PLAY FOR" buttons that were given out during Paint the Campus Pink Week. When students stopped by to take a "I PLAY FOR" photo, they also wrote who they played for on the button so they could take it with them.
